Mazel Tov! A beautiful Jewish Wedding

On Sunday, August 1st 2010 Vanessa Preiss married Brett Meyer at the King Plow Arts Center in Atlanta. It was a beautiful event, with over 150 guests in attendance, filled with jewish tradition and infused with the personalities of the Bride and Groom. The details of the ceremony and reception truly showed the uniquiness and originality of the couple.
Vanessa and Brett were wed under a gorgeous chuppah that was lined with hundreds of feathers and twinkle lights in front of their friends and family. The ceremony was performed by Rabbi Steven Lebow and filled with humor and entertainment. The couple and wedding party exited the ceremony to the theme from Star Wars and provided a wedding cake topped with Hans solo and Princess Leiya figurines at the reception. As the dancing commenced at the reception the bride and groom participated in the traditional Hora and were hoisted onto chairs and bounced up and down by the guests, it was quite a ride. But, the most poigniant moment was when the groom serenaded the bride in front of the entire crowd, it was beautiful. An affair to remember for sure.

For the past 5 years Cheap-chic-weddings.com has hosted a “Toilet Paper Wedding Dress contest.” The picture to the left is from this year’s 2nd place winner. Atlanta wedding event- The Designer Bride

On Sunday, May 16th, Social Lilly held the first of many wedding events that are sure to take Atlanta’s weddings by storm. This was not your run of the mill ‘wedding event’, held at one of Atlanta’s finest private mansions (Lion’s gate) on Powers Ferry Road “The Designer Bride” event was chic, unqiue and captivating. Several of the vendors provided interactive demonstrations; a workout demo by Feline Fitness, a cooking lesson by Noorish Catering and a Spray-Tanning demo by Pure Sol Bronzing. And the fashion show was worth mentioning, several heads were turned when they brought out the models wearing lingerie, by Livi Rae Lingerie. Military Bride

Last weekend I directed the Wedding of Joy Overrocker and Tony Harry at the Post Chapel in Fort. McPherson. My favorite detail from the wedding was that the best man was the groom’s 10 year old son. Following the ceremony a candle lit reception was held at the College Park Women’s Club (Camelia Hall). This small intimate affair was elegant, simple and classic. T

Wedding flowers to dye for….

At one of my recent wedding the florist dyed the orchids a deep indigo color. It gave the flowers a really exotic look, they almost appeared to glow. The dying technique used was to put the dye into water and allow the stems to drink up the color. The effect caused was a very natural look of color variation, the center of the flower was a light blue and then gradually increased to a deep purple at the edges of the petals. The picture attached doesn’t really do it justice. For any bride looking for a unique and eye catching effect this is a great idea to consider.

At one of my recent weddings the bride and groom opted to use a recipe book in lieu of a traditional guest book. What an innovative and unique touch. Rather than having a book that they would likely look at once and then put away, by using the recipe book they will have the opportunity to randomly stumble upon the well wishing and congratulations of their wedding guests anytime they use it to cook. I was and continue to be really impressed with this idea.
